Wes Finch combines lovely songs – drawing on the works of Shakespeare, Yeats, Blake, Larkin, Masefield and more – subtle folk-classical music, poetry recitation, joyous skits, and maybe some loose middle ages jigs, into a live show full of fun.
In this delightful gem of a concert, The Rude Mechanicals Band, led by the exceptional song-smith Wes Finch, and galvanised by their love of literature, draw on the words of Shakespeare, WB Yeats, William Blake, Phillip Larkin, John Masefield and more for their witty, erudite, and achingly lovely songs.
With a blast of originality and fantastic energy, they combine bittersweet acoustic ballads, subtle folk-classical music, jazz, chanson and enchanting poetry recitation into a live show of infectious goodwill and sense of occasion.
