The Sagas of NOGGIN THE NOG

FRIDAY 20TH APRIL 2018

   7.30pm  (Doors open at 7pm)

In the Lands of the North where the black rocks stand guard against the cold sea,

in the dark night that is very long, the Men of Northlands sit by their great log fires

and they tell a tale . .  .

. . of  Noggin the Nog!

The classic stories by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, which became one of the

most iconic television series of the 1970s, are playfully retold using puppets, original

music, film – and a cast of silly Vikings.

Accompanied by the brave and mighty Thor Nogson and the great green bird Graculus, we go North on a journey of adventure and discovery to battle the fearsome

Ice Dragon and the dastardly deeds of Noggin’s wicked uncle, Nogbad the Bad.

For children, families and fans.

The Wind In The Willows: A Folk Opera

Performed by  GreenMatthews

SUNDAY 4TH MARCH 2018

7.30pm  (Doors open at 7.00pm)

A folk music performance which tells a familiar and well-known story and is aimed at adults and anyone over 11 years. The idea of the show is similar to Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds and here traditional English folk songs will be set with new lyrics to tell the tale of Ratty, Mole, Badger and Mr Toad.

The four performers are all familiar and popular performers at our venues. This is the first time they have appeared on the same bill.

Both duos are in our current season of events: Chris Green and Sophie Matthews were formerly known as Blast From The Past and have touring themed traditional English music shows to introduce dozens of fascinating, little known musical instruments (A Brief History Of Music, The Canterbury Tales). Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer are part of company for The Whispering Road – and Vicki’s fascinating Swedish Nyckelharpa always gathers a crowd keen to get a closer look. She will be performing it in this show!
